Woodland House is a proposal for two large, 4 bedroom new build homes within a woodland on the settlement boundary of a village in rural Northamptonshire.
The houses’ orientation and position within the woodland plot is driven by the sun path, privacy and key views to the meadow beyond. The houses’ geometry and ratio of solid to glazed is driven by environmental considerations such as maximising passive solar gain (warmth from the sun) during winter months, whilst mitigating overheating in the summer months.
